  • Children (6-14 years) - school dropouts and children who have never been to school, and marginalized groups and children with special needs.
  • Adolescents and Adults (above 14 years) - dropouts; adults, in particular women, of marginalized groups etc.
  • NIOS is focused on helping :
    1. rural/urban poor.
    2. girls & women.
    3. underprivileged sections of society (i.e. SC/ST) & disadvantaged persons of minority communities.
    4. People with special needs i.e. physically & mentally challenged.
    5. school drop-outs.
