What are the components of NIOS?
The below courses and programs are available through the open and distance education system :
- Open Basic Education (OBE) Program at 3 different levels - same as the class 8 of the formal school system (the 3 levels cover classes 3, 5 and 8 respectively).
- Secondary Education Program - same as the class 10 of the formal school system.
- Senior Secondary Education Program - same as the class 12 of the formal school system.
- Vocational Education Programs and Courses.
- Diploma in Elementary Teacher’s Education (for untrained in-service teachers only).
- Like Skill Education Programs (mostly targeting adolescent learners).

How do I finish my 10th?
What is the Open Basic Education (OBE) Program? is the same as the primary and upper primary level education through open schooling. You can obtain education up to class 8 under the 10+2 years of school education scheme. The self-learning material for all 3 levels is available in Hindi and English mediums.

What is the Secondary Education Program & Senior Secondary Education Program? through this the child can obtain education which is same as class 9 and 10 (secondary) and class 11 and 12 (senior secondary) of the regular education systems of other recognised school education boards in India.
