The income certificate is a document certifying the annual income of a person’s household. It includes the income of all earning members of the family.
Different processes require different kinds of documents. So, let’s find the ones you need.
The income certificate can be used to show eligibility for various Government schemes such as the Public Distribution System, subsidised LPG, legal aid, scholarships for students from lower economic backgrounds or for tribal students, etc.
You can get your income certificate by visiting the nearest Tehsildar, District Magistrate, Sub District Magistrate or Revenue Officer in person. Alternatively, you can also apply online. For the application, you will be required to submit your identity proof, address proof, self-declaration form, and proof of income (or parent’s income certificate if the applicant is under 18 years of age.)
You can collect the certificate within 10-15 days from the same place you applied. In the case of an online application, it can be downloaded directly from the portal.
Yes, you can get information update/corrected on your certificate in person. You can also check for an online application on your State Government’s website for citizen services.
Unfortunately, there are no alternatives to the income certificate.
You first need to file a report with the police. Once done, you can submit a copy of the report along with an affidavit and address/identity proof at your nearest Tehsil, District Magistrate’s office, or Revenue Department. They can then issue a duplicate copy of your income certificate.
